About Us

Tom’s Bowen clinic is situated in Mark Street, Buderim on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in South Eastern Queensland.

The clinic will also send a therapist to your home if you are unable to travel because of your injury.

Clinic hours are quite fluid, as we recognise that you don’t always get injured between nine and five in daylight hours!

As for Tom, well: Tom has over 35 years experience in teaching, playing, coaching and administrating sports at junior and senior levels. He has also completed tertiary studies in exercise physiology, skill acquisition, biomechanics and sports medicine. Tom harnesses this experience and his knowledge of sports, sports injury treatment and management as well as his qualifications in Bowen Technique to provide safe and pain-free treatment.

History.

Bowen therapy originated in Australia. While working as a masseur for football clubs in Geelong, Tom Bowen started to see a connection between apparently unrelated painful conditions. He then went on to develop the unique set of moves that make up Bowen therapy.

In 1975, a government inquiry reviewed Mr. Bowen's work and found he was achieving a success rate of over 80 per cent in presenting conditions. Better still, in most instances, only two to three sessions are required.

It's hard to believe such a subtle, non-invasive therapy can be so effective, but there is plenty of evidence to support the claims made by various Bowen Therapy modality practitioners
