Kyle S., Sunshine Coast

My Name is Kylie S....., and I have been going to Tom for Bowen treatment for a few months and am very satisfied with the results I am experiencing.

Right Shoulder – overuse, aches while doing gym classes etc. Psoas – restricts movement while exercising. Lower Back – weak core due to two caesareans which, if not treated, is very debilitating, and sometimes requires use of a walking stick to get around. Pulled Hamstring – one from 11yrs ago and one more recently, which I recovered from almost immediately after just two sessions with Tom. Sprained Ankle – 18 months ago, after getting back into basketball after 10yrs, suffered an ankle sprain which never fully recovered to full use while exercising. Plantar Fasciitis – suffered Achilles problems which left untreated, lead to a more debilitating spur on my heel.

All of these, wear and tear on my body and over 40 yrs on this earth, led me to not being able to play and enjoy the game of basketball.

My regular treatments with Tom, as well as when suffering acute symptoms, has got me “BACK IN THE GAME”. Tom’s attention to detail and his experience and knowledge in sports medicine, in conjunction with Bowen therapy, has improved my ability to exercise and maintain a level of fitness for a healthy lifestyle.

I can’t thank Tom enough for his gentle healing technique!!

History.

Bowen therapy originated in Australia. While working as a masseur for football clubs in Geelong, Tom Bowen started to see a connection between apparently unrelated painful conditions. He then went on to develop the unique set of moves that make up Bowen therapy.

In 1975, a government inquiry reviewed Mr. Bowen's work and found he was achieving a success rate of over 80 per cent in presenting conditions. Better still, in most instances, only two to three sessions are required.

It's hard to believe such a subtle, non-invasive therapy can be so effective, but there is plenty of evidence to support the claims made by various Bowen Therapy modality practitioners
